The two lead partners, Rob and Steve, are the ‘yin and yang’ of the business. We bring very different perspectives and skillsets to a project, but – having worked together for over 25 years – we have a deep understanding of each other’s approaches which enables us to strike the right balance for our clients.

We are backed up by a network of seasoned professionals; offering support and specialist technical expertise where it is needed.

Rob Threadgold

Rob began his career at SPS Advertising in 1989, working as a graphic designer and art director on major accounts including NatWest, Mercedes-Benz and Vauxhall.

In 1998, he co-founded Braden Threadgold Advertising with Steve Braden – later rebranded as BTL Creative – and led the agency’s creative output for brands such as Polaroid, Comet, AIG, Willmott Dixon and Merlin Entertainments.

Steve cut his teeth working at design and marketing agencies before striking out on his own at the age of 26. Within two years, he’d partnered with Rob to form Braden Threadgold, a partnership which has endured for more than 25 years and has been characterised by an astonishing level of client loyalty.

Steve’s background in English gives him a natural flair for shaping brand stories that resonate. Combined with his deep experience in strategy and project management, he helps ensure that creative thinking is always aligned with real-world objectives and measurable results.

Neal Parkes

Neal has worked alongside Steve and Rob for more than two decades, keeping projects on track and clients happy. Known for his precision and reliability, he blends practical know-how with strong project management to make sure every deliverable is completed to the highest standard.

With a deep understanding of both creative and technical processes, Neal provides the vital link between concept and completion – ensuring that great ideas are always realised smoothly, safely and on time.

Nick Watts

Nick specialises in developing bespoke online systems that go far beyond standard websites. With a strong focus on functionality, usability and design, he creates tailored solutions that meet each client’s exact needs.

Equally comfortable discussing technical detail or broader commercial goals, Nick bridges the gap between creative ambition and robust implementation – ensuring that every project works beautifully, inside and out.

Our Extended Network

We also draw on a team of trusted specialists – including AJ Moger (animation and editing), Andy Sheraton (video production), Steve Ware (photography) and Louise Bentley (research and planning) – to extend our in-house capabilities when needed.

Rob and Steve launched Braden Threadgold Advertising in 1998. The business later traded for several years as BTL Creative, reflecting a broader range of creative services, before reverting to Braden Threadgold to focus on what we do best – intelligent, added-value brand strategy.

Whereas BTL Creative operated as a full-service agency, our long-term goal was always to create a focused brand consultancy – one that combines strategic insight with hands-on creative experience, without the distractions of a traditional design house.

We pride ourselves on the longevity of the business relationships we’ve enjoyed, and how we’ve helped many organisations develop effective brands and marketing communications within tight budgets.
